At Tuesday’s Sarasota County Public Hospital Board meeting, the Board also approved moving forward with plans for a new outpatient cancer center next to the SMH-Venice campus, bringing more advanced cancer care closer to patients in south Sarasota County and surrounding communities. The center is the next phase in the growth of SMH’s Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute and will include radiation oncology, physician clinics, infusion, imaging and supportive services.
