Joint Replacement Surgery Classes
When it comes to joint replacement surgery, each patient plays a key role their own recovery. To ensure each surgery patient is well-prepared to participate in their care plan, the Sarasota Memorial Orthopedics team requires patients to complete Pre-Operative Joint Replacement Education (for hip, knee or shoulder surgery) prior to surgery.
Topics in this education class include:
- Preparing for surgery
- What to expect during your stay
- Managing pain after surgery
- Rehab therapy
- Your goals after surgery
- Your discharge plan.
We offer the following options for the class:

Now offered virtually, the interactive, online class teaches participants what to expect before, during and after spine surgery for the neck (cervical) and back (thoracic/lumbar). With this knowledge, you are better able to participate in your care plan.
