Parkinson’s Disease Support & Education Programs
In partnership with the Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s, Sarasota Memorial offers a full range of therapeutic, support and education programs for people with Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, as well as their caregivers.
Sarasota Memorial Parkinson’s Specialty Clinic
In addition to diagnostic and treatment services, Sarasota Memorial offers education, emotional support services, rehabilitation therapies and exercise programs for those affected by Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
Under the direction of board-certified Neurologist Dean Sutherland, MD, PhD, SMH’s Parkinson’s specialty clinic is staffed by dedicated physicians and specialists whose multidisciplinary approach ensures the best care for patients and caregivers.
Neuro Challenge Foundation Programs
Our community partner, Neuro Challenge Foundation for Parkinson’s is dedicated to helping people with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers live a better quality of life.
Together, Neuro Challenge Foundation and Sarasota Memorial coordinate monthly Parkinson’s Wellness Clubs support group meetings in Bradenton, Sarasota, Venice and North Port, as well as the annual Parkinson’s Symposium.
Other Neuro Challenge Foundation support, education and therapeutic programs include:
- Individualized care advising
- Dozens of monthly Parkinson’s groups in Sarasota and surrounding counties
- Distinguished Speakers Series events and the Neuro Challenge Parkinson’s EXPO, all of which present essential information for people affected by Parkinson’s
