Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) is Sarasota Memorial Hospital's recovery-optimizing program for surgical patients. ERAS is an evidence-based and patient-centered program developed to ensure patients' successful recovery following surgery. Each patient meets with our program coordinator to learn how to create a better healing environment which leads to a shorter hospital stay, less need for narcotics, and lower risk for complications and readmissions. Knowing what to expect before, during, and after surgery can help lower anxiety and make your hospital stay more enjoyable.
