SMH Expands FPG Family Practice, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine Network

SARASOTA, Fla. — Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is welcoming two new physicians to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network and our community this month.

Family medicine physician Armani Orihuela, MD, is now accepting new patients at the FPG Family Practice at Gulf Gate. Together with family medicine specialists Kevin Dunn, MD, and Barry Stein, MD, and Internal Medicine and Pediatrics specialist Mark Brus, MD, Dr. Orihuela provides comprehensive primary care for families and individuals of all ages.

Internal Medicine/Pediatrics physician Patrick Begley, DO, is now accepting new patients at FPG’s Internal Medicine and Pediatrics office at Blackburn Point. Together with internal medicine/pediatrics specialists Rachel Dahlborg, MD; Karen Hamad, MD; Alan King, DO; Sarah Scarselletta, MD; John Wassenaar, MD; and Joseph Yeh, MD, Dr. Begley and team provide comprehensive internal medicine and pediatric care for individuals of all ages.
                
Prior to joining First Physicians Group, Dr. Orihuela served as a resident physician and faculty for NEOMED Family and Community Medicine, teaching medical students clinical medicine in Rootstown, Ohio. Dr. Orihuela is establishing a new practice in Sarasota after earning his medical degree from the Medical University of the Americas on Nevis, West Indies, and completing his residency at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. Dr. Begley comes to FPG after earning his medical degree from the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Va., and completing his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Peoria, Ill. He is establishing his new practice in Osprey, Fla., at the Sarasota Memorial Health Care Center at Blackburn Point, 929 South Tamiami Trail. Drs. Orihuela and Begley’s comprehensive patient care services range from routine checkups, flu shots, immunizations, preventative wellness and physicals to ongoing care for dementia, asthma, COPD, diabetes, hypertension and heart failure. Both physicians were recruited by Sarasota Memorial to help fill the gaps caused by a shortage of physicians in the region.
