SARASOTA, Fla. (April 21, 2026) – Sarasota Memorial Health Care System was spotlighted today among America’s Best Employers for Company Culture 2026, a list compiled by Forbes and Statista to recognize organizations nationwide that foster positive, engaging and values-driven workplace environments.

The national award highlights employers that prioritize employee well-being, collaboration, trust and professional growth—key drivers of a strong organizational culture. The Forbes/Statista rankings are based on independent surveys of hundreds of thousands of U.S. employees, along with extensive analysis of workplace culture metrics, including employee satisfaction, willingness to recommend their employer and perceptions of workplace environment.

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System CEO David Verinder said the recognition is a reflection of SMH’s deeply rooted public mission and its team’s enduring commitment to the community.

“Sarasota Memorial has been caring for this community for 100 years,” said Sarasota Memorial Health Care System CEO David Verinder. “A lot has changed over the decades, but our priorities haven’t – we’re still here to deliver the best possible care to every patient we serve.”

Sarasota Memorial’s recognition underscores its ongoing investments in employee engagement, professional development and a culture rooted in respect, teamwork and excellence. As one of the region’s largest public health systems, Sarasota Memorial employs 11,000 team members across its hospitals, outpatient facilities and physician practices, all dedicated to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

This latest recognition adds to a growing list of national honors for Sarasota Memorial, including being named among America’s Best Large Employers, a Best Place to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare, and Nursegrid’s “Great Workplaces for Nurses in 2026. In 2025, SMH was listed among Forbes’ “Best Employers for Women,” “Best Employers for Healthcare Professionals” and “Best Employers by State.”
