New Physiatrist Joins SMH Rehab Team

SARASOTA, Fla. – (Aug. 21, 2017) – Sarasota Memorial Health Care System welcomed a new physical medicine and rehabilitation specialist to the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network and community this week. 

Dr. Alexander J. Bajorek, MD, joined FPG’s physiatry team on Aug. 14, providing inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services for people recovering from brain and spinal cord injuries, stroke and other neurological, orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Bajorek earned his medical degree in 2013 from the University of Louisville, Ky., and came to Sarasota from Harvard Medical School’s Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston, where he completed his residency training and served as chief resident. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Association of Academic Physiatrists.

Dr. Bajorek will work closely with Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Specialists Samuel Grissom, MD, medical director of Sarasota Memorial’s Rehabilitation Services; Associate Medical Director David Siegel, MD; and Sarasota Memorial’s multi-disciplinary team of rehabilitation specialists.
