SARASOTA, Fla. – (March 6, 2026) – Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is pleased to announce that Sarasota-based Neurosurgery and Spine Specialists has joined the health system’s First Physicians Group (FPG) network.

With more than 30 years of expertise in neurological surgery of the brain, spine, peripheral nerves and surrounding structures, the Neurosurgery and Spine Specialists team is transitioning the practice to FPG this week. The practice’s longtime Sarasota neurosurgeons Robert Knego, MD; Peter Mayer, MD; Kenneth Vives, MD; Ryan Glasser, MD; and Andrew Fine, MD – as well as their clinical team and practice staff – will be part of the transition. The group has built a strong reputation for delivering exceptional care for patients with cerebrovascular diseases, brain conditions and tumors, hydrocephalus, complex spine disorders, peripheral nerve conditions, Parkinson’s disease and intractable epilepsy, and will continue delivering the same high level of care – now backed by the resources and support of Sarasota Memorial and FPG, one of the largest primary and specialty physician groups in the region.

First Physicians Group Neurosurgery and Spine Specialists will remain at its current location at 5831 Bee Ridge Road, Suite 100, Sarasota, and will retain the same phone number: (941) 308-5700.
