Welcome, North Port Neighbors

Sarasota Memorial is excited to bring a new hospital to North Port’s Sumter Boulevard, expanding access to high-quality care for the growing community. We understand that living near an active construction site can be disruptive. We created this page to help keep you informed about construction activity that may be scheduled at night and other important updates that may affect the surrounding community.

April 2026

Nighttime Concrete Pours
As part of the hospital’s critical infrastructure, SMH is scheduling overnight concrete pours for floor slabs starting in April. Nighttime concrete pours are industry standard for many large-scale projects in Florida. Cooler temperatures ensure proper concrete curing and structural integrity for a hospital’s demanding scale. Staging cement trucks at night also helps prevent traffic congestion during peak daytime hours. Below is the tentative schedule for April. We encourage you to check back weekly for updates, as the schedule is subject to change.

April 7 – Central Energy Center location– 3:00 am start

April 24 – Central Energy Center location – 3:00 am start

April 28 – Hospital location – 1:00 am start
