Sarasota Memorial Health Care System has special volunteer opportunities for teens, ages 14-18. Teens are assigned to the department of Child Care, Discharge Services, Gift Shop, as well as serving at the Waldemere service where they deliver flowers, mail and run errands for the nursing staff.

We are currently accepting applications for our summer class. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit an application as soon as possible, as our program fills quickly and we have limited capacity.

Teens will need to attend both a HOSPITAL orientation and a DEPARTMENTAL orientation. The dates and times are as follows:

The summer program will have two available orientation dates, Thursday, June 7, 2012, and Monday, June 11, 2012. The hospital orientation will be held in the morning from 8:30-12:00. Lunch will be provided and the afternoon session will be orientation to the designated service assignment Department. Teens will need to attend both the HOSPITAL orientation and the DEPARTMENT orientation.
