Our Urology Team

Under the leadership of Medical Director and robotic surgery specialist Robert Carey, MD, PhD, our multidisciplinary urology team includes longtime local urologist Kenneth Bregg, MD, and surgeon Daniel Kaplon, MD, who specializes in da Vinci Robot-assisted surgical approaches for urologic cancers. The team has been nationally recognized for both its excellence and innovation in modern surgical techniques.

Honors & Awards

Sarasota Memorial Hospital was the first Florida hospital to be designated as a Robotic Training Epicenter for urology-led gynecologic surgery, in recognition of the program’s experience and excellence. As a training epicenter, Sarasota Memorial hosts surgeons from across the nation as they study specialized techniques using the da Vinci surgical robot.
