Orthopedic Surgery Support & Education - Joint Replacement Surgery Pre-Op Classes

When it comes to joint replacement surgery, each patient plays a key role their own recovery. To ensure surgery patients are well-prepared to participate in their care plan, the Sarasota Memorial Orthopedics team requires that patients having hip, knee or shoulder surgery must complete a Pre-operative Joint Replacement Education class prior to surgery. The class, led by an Orthopedics Pre-op Education specialist.

The preoperative class will help participants:

Prepare for surgery.
Know what to expect during the hospital stay.
Understand pain management options after surgery.
Rehab therapy.
Set post-surgery goals.
Understand their discharge plan.
