After your baby is born, you will be transferred from Labor and Delivery to your spacious and comfortable room on the Mother/Baby Unit. Your newborn can be with you in the privacy of your mother/baby unit room where you can adjust to each other while nurses and other specialist are on hand to assist you. A nearby central nursery is available should your baby require special observation or treatment.
Our nursing staff is highly trained and experienced in assisting new mothers with breastfeeding. Our lactation consultants are also available as needed for consultations. If you have problems after you leave the hospital, you can phone them for more support.
Our discharge instructions will help you and your partner get additional information on baby care before you leave the hospital. The free samples and information in the gift pack will also come in handy.
All new mothers can join our postpartum support group that meets weekly. For information, please call 941-917-1700.
