For everyone who needs them
North County Health Center is a not-for-profit
primary care practice, operated by Manatee County
Rural Health Services. Our center physicians provide high-quality
care to all patients, whether they are insured, pay out-of-pocket
or need financial assistance.
Appointments
We prefer that our patients call in advance to schedule an appointment,
however, walk-in patients are always welcome after 8:00 a.m. If you are unable to
make your appointment or are running more than 15 minutes late, please
call us to reschedule your appointment. Appointments are required on Fridays.
After Hours/Hospitalization
North County Health Center has one physician on staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. There is at least one
physician
on call 24 hours a day, including weekends and holidays.
If you are feeling ill, have a medical problem, or need to ask a
question, call our 24-hour answering service at 373-7844. Your message
will be promptly relayed and the on-call physician will return your
call as soon as possible.
For medical emergencies, please call 911.
Patients with serious injuries and other medical emergencies
should report directly to the hospital emergency room.
Prescriptions
North County Health Center also offers on-site
pharmacy services. In most cases, we can fill the prescriptions written
by our physicians before you leave the center. We participate in
several federal programs that allow us to offer significantly discounted
medications.
Payment
Payment is expected at the time of service unless prior arrangements
have been made. We accept most major insurance plans, Medicaid, Medicare,
and HMOs. A sliding fee scale based on federal guidelines, using
family income and size, is available for people who qualify for financial
assistance. Financial counselors are available to assist in requests
for assistance.
