Content of this course is a live presentation that occurred in 2005.  

 Target Audience

Palliative Care (End of Life Issues) is an online course for health care professionals, particularly nurses, licensed in Florida.

Objectives

  • Meet 1hour) the requirements set forth by Florida Board of Nursing;
  • Recognize common performance and diagnostic errors;
  • Describe the elements of a root cause analysis as a mechanism for preventing medical errors; and
  • Identify risk management measures designed to enhance patient safety.

Participants will be given the opportunity to evaluate the course and to comment on how they plan to incorporate suggested strategies into their practice.

Requirements for Course Completion

Participants will listen to the online seminar, review associated graphics and text, and complete a post-test and course evaluation.  Participants must correctly answer at least 70% of the test questions to receive credit.  If a grade of at least 70% is not achieved, this course and test may be repeated one time only.
