Athens is an Access Management system for
controlling secure access to web based services. One password will allow
access to many journals and databases.
Who May Have an Athens Password?
All credentialed, emeritus and currently
employed medical staff are eligible for a password. Subscription to our
library is possible for retired physicians and others. Please contact the
library.
How do you get an Athens
Password?
Fill out a password request form and submit it.
You will receive a return email.
Where do I login to Athens on the
library web page?
There are three ways to login to
Athens:
1. Use the main Athens login on located at the top of
the databases - directly over PubMed
2. Login to any one of
the resources that are available through Athens, such as MDConsult, StatRef,
etc. When you have logged into one of them, you have logged into all. This
can be done by clicking on any of the main databases on the web page
3. When using
our links to direct full text when in PubMed, you will be logging in using
Athens.
Who administers the Athens
database and who should you contact for help?
The Director of the Medical Library
administers the Athens database.

Is every Journal and Database
accessible through Athens?
No, not at this time. However, at least 75% of our
journals and databases are available through Athens and we are working with
all of our vendors to finalize accessibility.
Is there a list of all resources
that are available using Athens?
Yes. When you login using the link over PubMed on the
main database page, you will be directed to a page which lists all of the
resources available to you at that point.
