Gynecologic cancer is the growth of abnormal cells originating in the female reproductive organs, including the cervix, ovaries, uterus, fallopian tubes, vagina and vulva. Each year more than 80,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with cancer of the reproductive organs. At Sarasota Memorial’s Institute for Cancer Care women now have access to the kinds of advanced technology, genetic testing, treatments and clinical trials usually available only in major medical centers.
Meet Dr. James Fiorica
Dr. James V. Fiorica, MD leads the Women’s Cancer Care program at Sarasota Memorial. He works in a collaborative role with gynecology, internal medicine, family practice and medical oncology practitioners. Dr. Fiorica's expertise advances capabilities in Sarasota Memorial's diagnosis and treatment of reproductive cancers. His practice affiliation is the First Physicians Group of Sarasota.
