Nurses Across Florida Choose Sarasota Memorial
Sarasota Memorial once again ranks in honor roll of Florida's top hospitals
KING OF PRUSSIA, PA, — ADVANCE for Nurses newsmagazine announced today that Sarasota
Memorial Hospital has again been named one of Florida's “top hospitals” in the magazine’s second annual
nurses' survey of hospital performance.
Voting was open to RNs who evaluated 279 hospitals across Florida in areas that matter most to nurses:
quality of care, organizational culture, professional development, communication and nurse retention
efforts.
It was the second year in a row that Sarasota Memorial scored top honors in all five categories, earning it a
spot on the Readers’ Choice Honor Roll.
"One of our highest priorities is to provide our nurses with the support, structure and resources they need to
thrive in this challenging profession they've chosen," said Jan Mauck, RN, Chief Nursing Officer at Sarasota
Memorial. "Our nurses are the back-bone of this organization – assessing and directing much of the care and
impacting patients’ hospital experience. Taking care of them allows them to take better care of our patients."
In the ADVANCE survey, nurses ranked 108 of the 279 hospitals. Sixteen hospitals were honored across
five categories. The Readers’ Choice results are featured in today's Florida edition of ADVANCE for
Nurses, which reaches 65,400 RNs across Florida.
