SARASOTA – For the 16th consecutive year, Sarasota Memorial Hospital was named the top destination for health care in the region, earning a Consumer Choice Award for the Sarasota-Bradenton-Venice metropolitan area fromNational Research Corporation.
The award for 2013-2014 identifies hospitals that health care consumers have chosen as having the best overall quality, best doctors and nurses and image ratings markets throughout the nation. Of the 3,200 hospitals named by consumers in the study, the winning facilities rank highest in their Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs), as defined by the U.S. Census Bureau. The study surveyed more than 270,000 households in the contiguous 48 states and the District of Columbia.
