Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, along with other national, state and community partners, is reaching out to educate the community about the importance of advance health care decision-making — an effort that has culminated in the formal designation of April 16 as National Healthcare Decisions Day (NHDD).

Residents are encouraged to join a panel of medical, legal and community experts to learn more about ethical & living wills, advanced directives, health care surrogates and ways to make your wishes clear should an injury or illness prevent you from making decisions yourself.

What: National Healthcare Decisions Day – Sarasota
When: 10 am–noon Saturday, April 16
Where: Sarasota Memorial’s first floor auditorium, 1700 S. Tamiami Trail. CEUs available for qualified professionals ($10 fee).
