This week, Sarasota Memorial Health Care System recognized its EXCEL Employee of the Year and Leader of the Year, two of the organization’s most prestigious awards.
Physical Therapist Mark Moore was singled out from the health system’s 3,500-member workforce as this year’s EXCEL Employee of the Year. Colleagues describe the longtime staff member as “dedicated, compassionate, full of life -- One who loves what he does and believes in working to create miracles.” In fact, Moore broke the hospital’s record for the most nominations ever submitted for the employee award.
Clinical Information Systems Director Pamela Ramhofer was named Sarasota Memorial’s Leader of the Year. Overseeing the health system’s complex clinical and business information systems -- including the electronic medical record -- Ramhofer is known as an excellent communicator, role model and mentor. As one colleague who nominated the 25-year employee for the award said, “Pam has successfully bridged the worlds of information systems and clinical care.”
Sarasota Memorial’s EXCEL Program was established in 1985 by former Hospital Board member Jim Tollerton to recognize the health system’s outstanding employees. He continues to fund the program through the Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc. The awards were presented at the Hospital Board monthly board meeting March 21.
