Sarasota Memorial Hospital’s Auxiliary volunteer organization recently awarded college scholarships to six outstanding high school students who plan to pursue careers in health care. The G. Duncan Finlay Health Careers Scholarships, named after former Sarasota Memorial CEO G. Duncan Finlay, MD, will contribute $10,000 to each student over four years. Selection criteria include financial need, weighted grade point average, personal statements, teacher and employer/volunteer supervisor recommendations and personal interviews. The Auxiliary has generously funded the scholarships for more than two decades to aid students who plan to seek degrees in health care-related fields. Pictured, left to right, are G.
