Kayla McGrath graduated from Husson University School of Pharmacy in May 2015. She chose to complete her residency at Sarasota Memorial Hospital because of the hospital's excellence in clinical services as well as the specialized and dedicated preceptors, which will help her to successfully prepare for a clinical pharmacist position or a PGY-2 residency. Kayla's interests include critical care medicine, toxicology, and pediatrics. Through this residency experience, she hopes to strengthen her clinical skills, expand on her teaching and leadership experiences, and overall become a well-rounded pharmacist. After residency, she plans to pursue a PGY-2 residency in critical care or pursue a career as a clinical pharmacist in a community hospital.

Jennifer Vanderploeg graduated from Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in May 2015. She chose to complete her residency at Sarasota Memorial Hospital because of the diversity in rotation opportunities, the highly trained staff members, and the welcoming atmosphere of both the pharmacy department and hospital. This year she is excited to gain hands on clinical experience while learning to become a crucial part of a patient care team. Her current interests are in Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, and Sterile Products. Upon completion of the PGY-1 program, she hopes to obtain a clinical pharmacist position in a community hospital setting. 

Naomi Digiantonio graduated from Drake University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in May 2015. She chose to pursue a PGY-1 residency at Sarasota Memorial Hospital because of the experienced preceptors and variety of rotations offered. She is excited to work with strong mentors to develop her skills as a leader and clinical pharmacist. Her professional interests include oncology and infectious disease. Upon completion of her PGY-1 she hopes to pursue a PGY-2 or a career as a unit-based clinical pharmacist in a community hospital.

Jaymes Dean graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy - Bradenton in June 2015. He chose to complete his residency at Sarasota Memorial Hospital because of the variety of clinical rotation experiences, strong preceptor core, and the hospital's consistent clinical excellence. His professional interests include emergency medicine, cardiology/anticoagulation, and nutrition support. During his residency year, he hopes to build upon his current clinical knowledge and gain experience in new clinical settings to become a well-rounded pharmacist. Upon completion of the PGY-1 program, Jaymes plans to pursue a career as a unit-based clinical pharmacist.

Mark Wilson graduated from University of Florida College of Pharmacy in May 2015.  He chose to pursue his PGY-1 residency at Sarasota Memorial Hospital because of the program’s variety of clinical core rotations, its strong focus on antimicrobial stewardship, and the hospital’s reputation for high quality patient care.  This year, Mark hopes to gain valuable leadership experience and continue to improve his ability to provide clinical services.  His professional interests include infectious disease and emergency medicine.  Upon completion of the PGY-1 residency, Mark plans to pursue a career as a clinical pharmacist with additional certification in antimicrobial stewardship.

Jenna McCoy graduated from Wingate University School of Pharmacy in May 2015.  She chose to pursue a residency at Sarasota Memorial Hospital because of the variety of rotation experiences offered and the focus on providing a strong background in order to become a well-rounded pharmacist. Through this residency experience, she aspires to achieve her goal of becoming a confident and competent member of the healthcare team.  Her interests include cardiology and psychiatry. After residency, she plans to obtain a unit-based clinical pharmacist position.
