How has weight loss surgery changed your life?
Prior to surgery, I was diagnosed with hypertension, Type II Diabetes and sleep apnea. I took five medications for these. Since surgery I have been able to stop taking all medications and no longer suffer from any of the afflictions.
My energy level has skyrocketed – I now walk between 3 and 3 ½ miles daily. I’ve completed so many projects around the house that I couldn’t do when I was heavy, my wife doesn’t have a “honey-do” list left for me.
Friends, colleagues and business associates are amazed how good I look and feel. I enjoy all their positive comments. They have allowed me to take pride in my appearance – I enjoy buying clothes that fit me well and show off my new, trim figure.
Because my self-esteem has improved so much, I am much more social – enjoying people and social functions more.
I always remember that the surgery is just a tool and I must always be cognizant of what I’m eating – I don’t ever want to get fat again!
