Early detection is the best defense against breast cancer and an annual mammogram is one of the most effective breast cancer screening methods available today. The American Cancer Society recommends that women age 40 and older have a screening mammogram and clinical breast exam annually.

From the time you make your first appointment through any questions, treatment or follow-up care that you may need, our Breast Health Navigator is available to guide you every step of the way. Whether you have questions about your screening, what your test results mean or what the next step in your care should be, our specially trained coordinator will assist and guide you through the treatment process. Genetic Testing
Since all women are at risk of developing breast cancer, understanding those risks are important and may help you choose ways to reduce your risk or screening options that would be best for you. Sarasota Memorial's Genetic Education Program provides genetic counseling and testing to help assess your family and individual risk.
