An annual mammogram is one of the most effective ways to screen for breast cancer. The American Cancer Society recommends women age 40 and older have a screening mammogram and clinical breast exam every year.
3D mammography (also known as breast tomosynthesis) has shown promise as a major advance over digital mammography, with higher cancer detection rates and fewer patients needing to be recalled for additional testing. While breast tomosynthesis benefits all screening and diagnostic mammography patients, it is especially valuable for women receiving a baseline screening, those who have dense breast tissue and women with a personal history of breast cancer.
We offer mammograms at seven convenient locations. To schedule an appointment, please get a referral from your primary care physician and call 941-917-7322.
