Pain Management Program
Sarasota Memorial's Pain Management Program offers a team of experts to provide interdisciplinary comprehensive pain management. Our pain care team works with each patient to develop an individualized treatment plan that allows for increased function ability and quality of life. The team is comprised of board-certified pain medicine physicians, nurse practitioners, registered & licensed practical nurses, clinical nurse researcher, and radiology technicians. We offer a wide range of services, from conservative medication management to advanced interventional procedures. We implement evidence-based pain medicine practices to provide the patient with the highest standard of care and are involved in clinical research initiatives to further the science of pain management.

Diabetes Treatment Services
The Blackburn Point site offers the education expertise of certified diabetes professionals. Support, motivation, education and up-to-date medical information provide the tools to help participants make lifestyle changes to maintain optimum blood sugar control and prevent complications. Sarasota Memorial's outpatient diabetes education program is one of only 600 programs in the United States to receive recognition from the American Diabetes Association. Day and evening classes are offered at Blackburn Point, including individual consultation of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, pediatric, gestational diabetes, insulin pump therapy, support groups and nutritional counseling.

Anticoagulation Clinic helps patients safely manage their anticoagulation medications, including Warfarin sodium, Coumadin and Jantoven, and increase the amount of time their blood tests INR) remain in the appropriate range. In recent years, studies have shown that patients who are managed by Anticoagulation Clinics experience fewer incidences of bleeding and harmful clot formations, as well as fewer hospital visits resulting from these complications.

Heart Failure Clinic is an outpatient program that provides heart failure patients and their families with comprehensive education, symptom management and monitoring to strengthen their cardiovascular health and improve their quality of life.
