Nursing Orientation at Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is every other week and begins the day following house wide orientation. house wide orientation. Nursing's mission, vision and values, quality and safety initiatives, along with our patient care delivery model are presented. The 14 Forces of Magnetism are emphasized as the framework for the nursing standards of care.e.

The orientation emphasizes the use of Human Patient Simulation in the Simulation Lab. This is an interactive and dynamic program providing new staff education through simulation. Assessments, policies, procedures, and the equipment necessary for nurses to do their job are provided.

New graduate nurses also spend time on the Nurse Residency Unit with a designated preceptor prior to orientation in their assigned unitit.

New staff also complete computer based training class (Sunrise Clinical Manager) and orient on their unit with a preceptor.finish with precepted time orienting on their units.
