MindSet for Early Stage Memory Loss
A series of six free classes designed to help individuals with early stage memory loss & care partners. Classes teach skills that help exercise the brain, create healthy habits and improve communication. The research-based exercises can be used at home to help people function better in every day life. Sunshine from Darkness Mental Health Symposium – Coping with Trauma & PTSD
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a serious, but treatable cognitive disorder that can emerge after a single traumatic event or after the cumulative effects of deployment and combat. Anyone who has faced significant trauma is susceptible: abuse victims, first responders, victims of violent crimes, etc. To learn more, attend this FREE community forum, 9 am-1 pm Jan. 14 at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Speakers include: Charles Hoge, MD (ret. Army Colonel who directed the U.S. military’s psychiatry and neuroscience research program at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research); Sgt. MDA Muscle Walk
The MDA Muscle Walk is a series of local walk events across the country held to pay tribute to and raise funds for children and adults served by the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The walks are family-oriented gatherings and light exercise for everyone — children, adults, grandparents, students, corporate teams and more.
