CT-Guided Biopsies: Quality Care Begins With a Quality Diagnosis
A definite diagnosis of cancer is almost always based on a biopsy of cell or tissue
samples. Many biopsies are performed surgically if the suspicious area is located near the surface of the body. If, however, a suspected tumor is located deep inside the body, Sarasota Memorial also offers CT-guided biopsies, which allow physicians to peer inside the body – without the need for surgery – while providing enhanced images that can help determine whether a tumor is isolated or presents risks of malignancy. To learn more, call Sarasota Memorial’s HealthLine at 941-917-7777.
