Sarasota Memorial Wins Consumer Choice Honor
For the ninth consecutive year, Sarasota Memorial was named a 2006/2007 Consumer Choice Award winner for the Sarasota-Bradenton-Venice metropolitan area by the National Research Corporation (NRC), an independent health care performance measurement company based in Lincoln, Neb. The award identifies hospitals that health care consumers have chosen as having the highest quality and image ratings in 186 markets throughout the nation. The winners, who rank highest in their Metropolitan Statistical Areas, were determined by consumer perceptions collected in the 2006/2007 NRC Healthcare Market Guide study, which surveyed more than 200,000 households across the U.S. "We're proud that community members have again chosen Sarasota Memorial as their preferred hospital," said Sarasota Memorial CEO Gwen MacKenzie. "The award is an acknowledgement of staff's efforts to provide the highest quality of care."

Halloween Safety
Ghosts and goblins will be tricking and treating soon.  Unfortunately, the number of tragic accidents increases on Halloween night compared with other evenings of the year.  Many Halloween-related injuries can be prevented if parents closely supervise school-aged children during trick-or-treat activities. The American Red Cross provides Halloween Safety Tips for Kids and Adults. Sarasota Memorial urges you to have a safe and fun-filled Halloween.
