In the Spotlight
Sarasota Memorial Stroke Program Ranks Top in State

The Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA) has listed Sarasota Memorial Hospital as one of only two "Comprehensive Stroke Centers" in Florida, singling out the local hospital as a preferred provider for people facing the greatest challenges in stroke care. Florida's Stroke Act encourages paramedics to transport stroke victims directly to a comprehensive or primary stroke center, bypassing closer hospitals under certain conditions. AHCA maintains the list of preferred providers on its website. To date, Sarasota Memorial is the only hospital in Sarasota County on the list.
